Building Project
More space, more opportunities, wider reach
Since its founding in 2003, Koinonia Education Centre has operated out of rented premises in and around Nairobi. To address rising rent and operational costs and secure the school's long-term sustainability, we acquired a 10-acre property in Maai Mahiu.
Relocation and Vision: In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Koinonia Education Centre relocated to a 10-acre plot along Old Naivasha Road in Maai Mahiu. We have ambitious plans to develop state-of-the-art facilities that will not only enhance the educational experience for our students but also benefit the wider community.
Current Progress: As of mid-2024, we have successfully completed our primary and secondary classrooms, boys' and girls' dormitories, and a fully equipped kitchen.
Future Needs:
A multi-purpose hall that will function as a dining hall and a theater for meetings and performing arts.
Sports facilities, including basketball, tennis, and badminton courts, as well as a standard athletics track.
A swimming pool that is safe and accessible for weekly lessons, replacing the current use of a commercial facility that may not always be available when needed.
A dedicated kindergarten space to move out of the current shared arrangement
